James Lewis

James Lewis is a Partner of EisnerAmper Cayman Ltd. as well as a Director of EisnerAmper Governance Services Ltd. (“Governance”). Mr. Lewis moved to the Cayman Islands in 2010 where he started his career with EisnerAmper. He currently serves as an audit partner for their audit practice and has over 25 years in audit experience, with direct focus on CIMA-regulated entities over the past 15 years, including private funds, mutual funds, insurance companies, company management licensed entities and security investment business license entities.

In 2019, EisnerAmper opened their Governance entity so they could utilize their experience in the industry and support their non-audit clients with all the fiduciary requirements that a regulated entity is required to comply with when domiciled and registered in the Cayman Islands. Mr. Lewis holds independent directorship positions and serves as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Governance clients.

Prior to joining EisnerAmper, Mr. Lewis began his career with a large mid-tier audit firm in Canada. After eight years Mr. Lewis moved to Brisbane, Australia where he worked for a Big Four audit firm in their middle market advisory practice for nearly three years. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria and Chartered Accountant qualification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia. He is a member of the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants and holds a practitioner’s license.
